Good image as you don’t really have to guess what time of the year it is. you can tell its a hot summers day as people have there tops of and have shorts on. everyone ha umbrellas up to try and keep in the shade which give you and idea as to how hot it is.

Its a crowded beach so theres lots of different angles you can view the picture from.

for example you have what look like a Dad and Son walking down the beach together in the centre of the image. they could be walking to the sea or to get a drink or ice cream which  is good because its up to you to decide what their doing or where they are going.

This is a good image as it shows someone stranded in arctic conditions. its completely different to the other image which show people having fun and relaxing where thus one shows someone in danger in what looks like the middle of nowhere.

It looks like the person in the picture would have to get himself out of the situation on his own as he’s high up and stuck in snow with perhaps no signal.

it would be good if you could see the person face to se what kind of expression he has and what he’s thinking. i would like to know if he’s scared or in a panic .

There are lots of different things in this image that are interesting.

one of the main things in the image is the person getting ready for some sort of panto or stage performance perhaps in Sheffield at the Crucible or Lyceum theatre.

The people in the picture look like their backstage getting ready to go on stage, the woman helping a man get into his costume. the room they are in looks quite old fashioned and used but historic.

The woman on this image looks ready to go on stage, ready to walk up the stairs and perform.

She has a look on her face as if she’s done it a millions times before. the spotlight looks as if its shining down on to her but she doesn’t seem fazed about it.

The way she is stood makes her out to be a very powerful woman.

Eye catching cover image as it has a big star on it James Corden in their local magazine.

the background colour is a bit boring an probably wouldn’t appeal to many people at its quite dim.

Rule of Thirds

got different things to focus on all around the image. on the right quarter line you have the main focus which is the person with a surf board. they are closer in the image which draws your attention towards it first.

Along the bottom quarter you have the ground which in this image is sand as the image is shot on a beach.

Screen Shot 2018-09-21 at 09.39.30.png

main part of the image is in right hand section on the line which is the light house.

the ground is made up of grass and rocks which is all in the bottom 3 squares.

Lead in lines

Screen Shot 2018-09-21 at 09.43.34.png

theres two set of line in this image.you have the road markings all in  a straight line but then surrounding that are a row of trees on either side.

usually you just have one set of lines but with this you have two which means your not just looking down at one straight line.

Screen Shot 2018-09-21 at 09.44.10.png

this image is not just a straight line it spirals down. your eyes follow it all the way own o the bottom.

the actual image is just of set of stairs but because of how the photo is taken it can be perceived as different things.

Frame within a frame

Screen Shot 2018-09-21 at 09.50.48.png

the actual frame is just the camera but theres another frame which is he plane window which focuses your attention o the bright lights of the bridge.

Negative Space

the space that surrounds the main image is the blue sky with a few faint clouds.

Allows the attention to be focused on the main object which is the building.

Lead in lines

all lines are leading to one sport to the left of the image. even the textures of the side of the building all lead in the same direction.

I felt that the original image could do with touching up on photoshop to make it a good picture.

To begin with i brought a few of the colours out to make it look more eye catching. for the reds and yellows i increased the saturation to make them stand out more whereas, in i decreased the saturation of the blue as it had a blue tint over the whole of the image.

The original picture was quite dim and boring however once id touched it up on photoshop it now looks like a sharp image with vibrant colours.

front cover

This image was shot a magazine cover.

The first thing that was wrong with this was it was shot in landscape instead of portrait, so i cropped it so that it was a portrait picture and suitable for a magazine cover.

The image was also tilted to the side quite a bit so that needed to be fixed.

i also altered the curves on the image. i found a pure white and pure black on the image to give it some depth and improve the contrast.

The last thing i did was bring the blues out a bit to make the image look a bit more eye catching.

Fast shutter speed – as the shutter speed is set to high there less chance for movement between me pressing the button to take the photo to the shutter closing.

DSC_0034.JPG

Slow shutter speed – because i set the shutter speed to slow there was more movement than what there would be with a faster shutter speed.

DSC_0036.JPG

Medium shutter speed – obviously because the shutter speed is set to medium there is a but more movement than the fast shutter speed but not as much as the slower shutter speed.

ISO Examples

Definition of ISO – ISO in Digital PhotographyIn Digital Photography ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor. The same principles apply as in film photography – the lower the number the less sensitive your camera is to light and the finer the grain.

ISOsettings are useful for if your take picture at night. for example if you had a low ISO setting in a dark place or somewhere with poor lighting then you would increase your ISO to somewhere around 1600 – 3200
