Unit 9 proposal  –

I intend to produce a 60 – 120 second video about how var is changing premier league football. I plan to show the positives and negative of having VAR in the premier league and decide wether it is worth having. The whole point of the video is to get peoples opinions such as fans, players and officials and by the end come to a conclusion.

I would ask questions such as how is VAR effecting your experience when it comes to either playing, watching or officiating football. I would also want my interviewees so answer wether they think VAR is a long term option for the premier league or wether they thing it should be scrapped all together.

i plan on asking them several other questions such as do you believe the referees should use the pitch-side monitor more as thats what people have been discussing a lot recently on social media.

For my interviews i plan on using eye level and close up shots. I would also like to sit at the side of the camera so that the person being interviewed is not looking directly down the camera as that would be uncomfortable for the viewer.

I will also use cut aways in my video to show VAR in actions. clips when VAR has had both positive and negative reactions will be used.

I feel my research has helped me a lot as i can see whats relevant at the minute and make my video about something people want to watch. i also did a lot of research on interview shot types so that when it comes to filming my interviews i know what i want immediately.

I also feel doing research on the people i’ll be interviewing will be important as if i know things about them then its easy to start a conversation and ask them more detailed questions.
