Infographic evaluation
To begin with we were given a few topics that we could base our interactive infographic on. For example, we could have chosen from things like the top ten things to do in Sheffield or how 16-19-year olds use social media. I didn’t chose these as I felt like I didn’t have enough knowledge on the topics whereas the topic I did chose I already knew quite a bit about.
For my infographic I chose to do underage gambling as there are many different pieces of data that I can use to make mine of a good standard.
The main source of information that I used to do my research was from the site below:
https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/PDF/survey-data/Young-People-and-Gambling-2017-Report.pdf
Using this site allowed me to choose from hundreds of different pieces of data to use for my info graphic. It had different stats and statistics from previous years on underage gambling which helped me to create my piece of data for this assignment.
To actually create my Interactive infographic, I used a website called Vengage. I felt like I used this website effectively as I used a lot of the features that it offered. For example, I chose to include bar chart and pie graphs to represent certain pieces of data.
I feel like one thing I could improve on would be my planning before starting my infographic. If I had done some planning beforehand on what I wanted it to look like and what features I wanted it to have then it would have been of a better standard.
In my opinion the actual information in it is good and will be of interest I feel and how it comes across in the infographic is clear and easy to read.
As a whole I think my Interactive infographic was done to a good enough standard however I feel like if I was to do this again in the future then I would be able to improve on a few things like I’ve talked about above.
